A Night at the Archives

In recognition of Heritage Week, you are invited to a presentation about the Bamfield Community Museum and Archives to take place on Tuesday March 6th at 7:30 pm in the Bamfield Community School library.  Some of the items contained in our community’s archive will be on display and we will let you know how you can access information from the archives; how you can contribute information to the archives and how you can volunteer to assist in the archives. All welcome.

Museum Exhibits

The Bamfield Community Museum and Archives hosts annual museum exhibits which are displayed each summer at Bamfield Centennial Park. The exhibit for the summer of 2011 was Fishing in Bamfield. As Centennial Park is closed for the winter months, the exhibits are moved to the library of Bamfield Community School after September 15th each year. You can now go to the library to see this exhibit, or view it under the Museum tab on this website.

You will also see a tab for our 2010 exhibit of The Women of Bamfield. We are currently working to get this complete exhibit posted. Soon you will be able to view all of the exhibits that have been done to date, so please return to this site ofter. Thank you for visiting our site and remember – if you have any information to contribute towards these exhibits, please email us at bamfieldmuseum@gmail.com

Welcome to the Bamfield Historical Society Website!

Welcome to the new website for the Bamfield Historical Society. Use the menu bar above to navigate around our site. Everything on the website is currently under construction, so please bear with us and make sure you return soon to see all the updates and slideshows!

If you have photos or documents that you think might be of interest to the Historical Society, please go to the Contact Us page of this website. Understandably, many people are reluctant to give up precious family items.  We have volunteers who can scan your photos and documents and return them to you after you have signed a release form that enables the society to catalogue them into our archives.
